This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Congratulations! Our cat had 5 kittens around a week ago, we didnt get to see her having them. I am sure your children are so excited!
If she does want to nurse...............cover with blanket! LOL
I went on that thread and I couldn't believe such stupid comments. I didnt dare put my pennys worth in, I nursed all mine and was just discreet in public. But when a baby is hungry, you have to feed them! Grrrr...
Back to horses................. : ) (Or Kittens!)
Well at least get her a blanket:') Got pics?
I know. It makes you realise how much you take for granted as basics, when to some they would be luxuries, running water and electricity......bathrooms......
My blood pressure went up about ten notches reading that ridiculous crap.
My daughter took a couple of pics but I'll take more later and post them. I'm pooped from being a midwife, I'm hitting the sack. See you ladies later!
Well it's 11:40pm and deaconjim should be getting in pretty soon, so I'll say Goodnight! Hope you all have a great evening and a beautiful day tommorow. : )
Goodnight sleepyheads:') Sweet horsie dreams
I absolutely refuse to take a kitten :)
Occassionally they pop up on leopards, also other color patterns - our stud has one, as did his dam and grand dam.
Her name is Friday, the palomino is Bart and the sorrel is Rim. And, unfortunately, they are mine as of this afternoon.
We put them on the roof to cool the whole house. In a window, parts of the house don't cool as well. And here, we have such a great view out of all of our windows, I'd hate to fill one up with a cooler. Our last house had one in the window though and we never bothered to change it.
Bart is 24yrs old, Rim is 25yrs old. Friday, the appaloosa mare is only 12yrs old.
Why unfortunately?
Found something for you. registered 2 y/o female. halter broken. Good weed eater. 250 dollars
Good morning
Becky
Morning.
Well, I have to find my vet today. I want him to look at Sarah Lee again. She isn't recovering like Okie did. Sigh. Gonna make some land calls too. All around working:')
Best of luck to you. Take some pics of her glands. I'd like to see what it looks like. I think many of us have never actually have a horse get this.
Sounds like you better tell this story!
Curious minds want to know why, where, who and what about these three horses. They sure are "tanks". Very, very nice. Breeding stock?
