This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I bookmarked it. I'll have to see how much time I have Sat morning. I would like to see your recipe though (Cindydawg@aol.com) They are expecting me to bring store bought and I would like to surprise them.
summer flowing dress and straw hat sound perfect. Dont forget to crook the little finger when you hold a tea cup! LOL Deaconjim takes the p&^% every time i drink something! LOL
Darn. I missed by one. Congratulations. I might make a few. That's it? Just bread, butter, cucumbers and salt and pepper?
yep thats it! Make sure you cut into triangles, not squares! Dont make too far ahead as they go soggy if you do. As for scones, Southern biscuits are almost the same, just cut open, put butter, strawberry Jam and cream inside. As for cream, we would use clotted cream or double cream, I am not sure what would work here, but whipped cream might work. Sounds like a lot of fun...: )
Pictures are not loading, I'll have to wait for Mack to figure it out.
Don't you hate the people who let there horses sniff other horses when you ride. It's all I can do to be polite. Several times, I've moved my horse away from someone who lets there horse sniff, and they just keep let it happen. They just don't get it, when a horse is under saddle it is work time for them not a social event.
Becky
I have developed an extensive slang vocabulary over the years but none of the "p" words I know fit:')???????
slice the cucumbers into rounds, very thin. A couple in each sandwich.
I'm sure he will now, my son has taken an interest :). It was really tough competition, I can't wait until we get the pictures my husband took back so I can post some. Some really top notch AQHA and APHA horses there.
grater thin?
But in the end, she didn't find horror, she found peace and beauty on her own turf, on her own terms. What more can any of us ask than to be surrounds by love and peace when our time comes?
Tiff used to do that... she let her mare snif a strange horse at a rest stop, but since she was standing between them, she's the one that got struck in the shins. I think she knows now ;~D
Bay will swish and pin his ears and threaten when a horse is too close behind. Usually the other horse is hip to that and backs off, even if the rider is oblivious.
I enjoyed your pics of the show too, they're looking good.
LOL, I was just checking recipes and some people put a little mayo on the bread too, but in my opinion, it makes them soggy.
I don't own a "tea set"! LOL Give me a huge big mug any day! LOL
Little tiny buns (cakes), (which could be made in miniature muffin pans) with a glazed white icing and a cherry in the middle is also a favourite. Or sprinkled with hundreds and thousands. : )
width of a sharp blade thin....
Ok. Thanks
Great photos, Love the scenery as well! It's strange that we are at 10:48pm here and you have just taken pics! LOL Kids are in bed and its pitch black outside. In Britain the time is the same wherever you are, so it still amazes me, when I discover the time differences here.
It is such a beautiful country............
It's called a mismark. Really unusual aren't they?
Is that a leopard? They are gorgeous. I love seeing the mountains. Is that an ac/cooler on your roof?
