This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
How's the baby this morning? Feeling ok?
Supposed to rain here tonight. Guess your rain is heading this way.
Good morning Becky,
Sorry about the nag about a picture, Just trying to keep the standards up whilst hair has gone. LOL : D
It rained this morning too, and this afternoon Emma has 3 friends for a riding/hot tub party, to celebrate her birthday, so I hope it dries up into another beautiful day.
If not, we'll find a movie and grab bowls of popcorn, or make a game or competition of some sort! She has a bowling alley game up on the third floor which they can play for a while! : ) They are all Good girls so I am not too worried.
Hope JP feels better soon : ) Did I ever tell you that JP is what deaconjim is called, by his family?
Got my second cup of coffee and the screen is getting clearer..................: )
Sharn
Oh you don't have to thank me for posting info. I know how it is when your kids are sick. I worry alot about mine too. (even tho' I don't let them KNOW it)
Our weather is dreary and 70% chance of rain today. Rather fitting for a Good Friday. (sigh)
y husband and I are going ....I'll be wearing a bright red coat and jeans. I am in my late 50's and have dark hair...come and say hello.
I haven't heard from my kids about how JP is today yet. This is Fri. my day to keep him so mom can ride her horse, so I'll see him later this morning. Since the weather is so rainy, she will probably just work her new one at the ranch then come home, which is good, IMO. Nobody takes the place of mom, even grandma, when your sick:)
Rose I didn't think you were nagging:)...I've missed my camera, and you've inspired me to get it fixed.
JP, stands for Jake Preston. Before he was born my son wanted him called by initials. I think I'm about the only one still calling him that. Most people have gone to Jake, but I like JP. Mack calls him Chester:)
Becky
I always feel so sad on Good friday. I know that Sunday is coming, but I still can't get beyond friday.
Morning, Holiday for me today, but I will still go in for a few hours of work. If I don't, I will be overwhelmed on Monday. It's double time, so I can't complain about that. Might as well, on this cold, cloudy, rainy day. One more week, and I am out of here.. ;')
Well I hope that he gets over what he has pretty quickly, especially on such a special weekend as this.
Tommy has just turned 3 and I don't know where the time has gone. He looks just like deaconjim did as a boy so its pretty scary! LOL
Jacob will be 6 soon, on tax day! and of course, Emma is about to be 11.
We are going to be using ACE but using their Lighthouse Accademy. They have seen the kids tests and Emma ( already a year ahead in 6th grade) will be starting in 8th grade and one subject in 9th!!!!! We are very proud of her! She wants to be a doctor and do studies to find the cure for cancer! : )
that's what is nice about this site, if you have a problem, even if it's not horses, post, ask and hopefully with all of us out here, doing different things in our lives, someone will have an answer! : )
What happens if loads of people wear red coats????
Maybe you need to be at the refreshment tent at .....time! LOL
Invasion of the red coats~ : )
I'm convinced that sadness is 'the love of God being shed abroad in our hearts'.
THINK about it.....this feeling 'we' have today, has GOT TO BE just a TINY sliver of what God, the Father, felt for His Son, as He sacrificed so much, out of LOVE for US.
Make any sense?
perfect sense : )
And top o' the mornin' to you, too!
Sunday is supposed to be a rainout here so we are going to hunt eggs today. Sunday will be a day to go to church and just spend the day together. My in-laws are driving in today to watch the kids hunt eggs and have lunch with us.
I really have the blues today, we just found out that my brother's wife is leaving him. He's almost 50, this is his second marriage but he married a woman half his age. Risky move at best, and he lost.
That's why I'm so thankful for the internet. LOL!
Y'up yet???
How come we don't have any pictures to look at yet????
(tap ...tap ...tap)
I'm sorry.
This is my year to have the kids for Easter. We rotate with their in-laws. My dad and his wife will be here too for a big lunch.
I bought plastic eggs and candy so the boys can hunt. Might have to do it in the house. I also got Blake some sidewalk paint and chalk, and a bubble makeing gun, and JP gets a lawnmower that makes bubbles. I have over a gallon of bubbles....we may look like the Lawerence Welk show:).
Becky
My kids love sidewalk chalk and paint!
You better get us some pics of JP pushing that bubble-making lawnmower around. That's gonna be seriously cute.
