The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread! - Thread FIVE

*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

It should work but it's not permanent.

I would definitely like to use her as a broodmare, if I can keep her comfortable. She's a nice mare. There is a pic of her on my who's who page.

Ah, she's pretty. Don't you just love the flaxen tails? Sarah Lee's now brushes the ground. Maybe I should trim it but it doesn't seem to bother her.

What a pretty rear end he has - I love the color. I'm very late getting on and still trying to catch up on posts.

They are doing fine - she loves people :).

Her name is TE Dusty Jax but I'm calling her Speed right now. She goes full out all the time. I think her momma is going to lose a couple hundred pounds in no time if she doesn't just give up and let the little one run.

I noticed in your pictures that all the ladies in your group had halters under the bridle. Is this something you do all the time? And the purpose I suppose is to be able to tie them up quickly? Inquiring minds need to know. Being a somewhat new rider I need all the help I can get

deaconjim is limping right now, he has heal spurs on both feet and medication is not working.

He should have put the spurs on his boots... they aren't supposed to go directly on his feet. ;~D

Good morning everyone!

I wish cortisone would work on Winnie. (The injections didn't work)

Really sorry about that. What now?

I do that on trail rides sometimes too, or at least bring the halter with me, and yes, it's so you can tie up for lunch breaks, and also better lead them over something if needed.

Well, I think we have decided to return the camera and printer and all the other stuff, and just get the old one fixed. That camera, and our computer all worked perfect for what we need. Mack talked to someone at another camera place and he said he thinks it could still be the battery. So that will be the first thing we do, is buy a battery, because even if that's not it, we will need one at some point.

Hopefully I can get it over to the camera shop tomorrow. Today I'm really too busy.

Oh - but that seems like such a disappointment to give up all the new stuff!

What about the 98SE upgrade? Did Charlie not have it after all or did that not work?

What are you busy with today? I have that cleaning for company thing to do.

It really isn't that big a disappointment. I liked my old camera:)

Not understanding a thing about computers, I'm not sure I'll say this right, Charlie had the SE disc, but Mack did not have the registration for the old one????

I have to finish getting ready for our bunko party tonight here, grocery shopping for food and preparing it for tonight, and Jenny is off today and we planned on riding some. I got most of the house done yesterday, and the yard...I got to mow:). I love to mow.

I love to mow.

Grrrr.... my lawnmower is still in the shop.

Charlie had the SE disc, but Mack did not have the registration for the old one????

It does ask for registration keys when you update most things.... and if you've lost your box or never had it, is that what stopped you?

I don't know if we ever had it. A friend of ours who is a computer geek:) gave us this computer when his bank was throwing them out several years ago.

I see - you may be stuck then. Sorry about that.

Much as I could recommend getting a legal copy of XP so you could stay updated.... I guess it's too much to do just so you can post pictures ;~D

I'll turn my hopes to your old camera battery ;~D
