The Bad News Bears has been done again, this time Walter Matthau's character is played by Billy Bob Thorton. I knew this was coming a few months ago but the site launched today with the new trailer for it...

No rating yet...but man..I hope they do not kill the classic film by cleaning it up too much with PC garbage. Tanner and Kelly Leak stole the show in the original.

You know Hollywood is going to clean this up a little. They can't help it. They've got PC disease.

I see a kid in a wheelchair....and I start thinking...wtf? I hope they don't clean it up...especially with Badder Santa being done..there is no reason for them to clean it up unless they are selling to kids on Nickelodeon.

Another rotten remake,I'm sure.
It seems like yesterday when I took my five kids to see the original and it was wonderful.
God,time goes by quickly!

Boy do I remember that movie! I was the same age as the kiddies in it and I recall the cussing, racial slurs and (strongly implied, though you never actually see anything) sexual situations. Plus Matthau's character's absentee father, boozing and gambling. It touched off a minor wave of national soul-searching as it so totally clashed with the Disney image of childhood.
The central lesson about little-league fanaticism could certainly stand to be dusted off.

The trailer doesn't exactly look PC, and Billy Bob Thornton has never been known for PC, so there's hope.

They shouldn't. Of course there isn't a need to have remade the movie to begin with.

Yep. That would be like trying to remake Jaws. You just don't do it.

Deep Blue Sea was nothing like Jaws. They should've stopped making them after two. Jaws 3 and 4 were terrible. Those two movies fall under, "The what was I thinking" category.

Yeah Universal was able to get away with calling it Jaws 5 though...but absolutely had nothing to do with the beach or anything Jaws like. A good movie though imo. Open Water was worthy of 3 stars.

More evidence that Hollweird has run out of original ideas so they go back and do something over...
Sad, isn't it?
