Because so many news reports state that she has "no cortex and thus no personality because she can't be cognitive" or words to that effect.
I became interested in your line of work, back when I had a serious back injury, almost exactly ten years ago.
I demanded an MRI, and it showed the state of my disc's, yet it also shows a narrowing in the area of my upper back/neck, where the flow of fluid is not quite 100%, to say the least.
That intrigued me, because I have this silly little problem of, when I am inverted, such as trying to do a handstand, I will immediately pass out.
Anyway, those events have stuck with me, and then helped us a lot, because my mom has "a touch of hydrocephalus" caused by, wouldn't you know it, the same thing that I have, but of course, she is old, and it has finally caught up with her.
My insistance again, that an MRI might show a mechanical reason for why she was getting a few signs of hydrocephalus, trumped the "theories" proposed by the doctors she had seen to date; her doctors were inclined toward chemical reasons forcing the change in her.
I was thinking, basic hydraulics.
Having seen the kinds of pictures --- hydrocephalus --- I was thinking almost exactly, what you have written.
Thank you.
Thank you so very much, Polybius for your extremely informative response! Thanks, also, First_Salute, for pinging me to this!!!!
