Cussing is totally frowned upon in this house.......even saying the word "damn" gets a quarter fine. Both Mom and Dad occassionally slip........and so the yung'un's piggy bank grows. But she gets hit with the same fine if she tells the dog to "shut up" as that is also not an acceptable phrase.

It's also an excellent teaching tool in regard to money....if she has to give me a quarter because she broke a language rule, she knows she won't have that quarter for the machine coming out of the supermarket - but she will if she either catches me, or doesn't do it herself. She's real quick to try and catch mommy or daddy.

We have a fine jar in our house as well. This jar is primarily for Daddy, though. No cussing allowed. If a cuss word comes out, it costs a dollar. All the collections are put into a jar and split every once in a while for the non-offenders.

I find it in extremely poor taste to use cuss words. One can better say what they intend to say using the regularly accepted English language.
