There is a trend today in male targeted entertainment (sports, automobiles) that seems to pander to 30 year old guys with the maturity of 13 year-olds.

Watching American Chopper, for example, Sports Center and so forth are good examples. There always are bald, husky (used to be called "fat") guys with a goatee and an ear ring. Does that give them "validity"? And then there is the athletic build female they all drool over (the hoarse sounding one on Over Haulin', for example) who does bugger all in the show but walks around in low rise jeans and a tight tee shirt.

The formula has become stale, honestly.

The word "Formula" is the word that keeps evading me when I see and hear that stuff. The sports guys are no different than the weathercasters in any local news broadcast. Weatherpeople have their own broadcast formula. It seems that 90% of TV/Radio media is driven by "Formula".

How does the "Formula" get changed?
