Just so everyone understands where you're coming from - would you support a 1.1% income tax, instead of a "business" tax, if it meant reducing property taxes today. No. We don't have an income tax. We already have a business tax called the franchise tax, they are just changing the cricumstances (closing loopholes) under which they collect it.

The bill provides that businesses may pay a 1.1% tax on the incomes of all workers it employs in lieu of the franchise tax. Market forces, of course, will act to pass that on to the worker. It is an income tax that the Republicans meant to disguise to garner the support of people looking for property tax relief at any cost.
