I did a tracert and it says "[4 hops with no response; assuming we hit a firewall that blocks pings]"

you have one of those fancy new tracert programs then. I just used the dos command version. it just said timed out after that IP, no details beyond that.

or probably unplugged on accident. I used to work tech support. you'd be surprised how many outages like this are caused by some dimwit unplugging the wrong thing.

They're back up, but were running slow. Probably just a tech problem, but the way things are these days, it's hard to tell if it was just a glitch or if some smart aleck lib kid decided to prove what a big guy he was by taking them offline.
