I'm not trying to prejudge you .. I read your responses to HairOfTheDog but I honestly didn't see an answer to the question I asked .. which (reworded) is, "Why keep breeding dogs to be dog-aggressive if you're not using them to fight?" I understand you want to remember the breed's past, but can't that be done without keeping them dog-aggressive in the present? I honestly am interested in pitbull people's thoughts on this. Look, I am on the side of the dogs here. I am not a PETA sympathizer. I work with dogs every day as a part of my job. We don't care to have pitbulls in the shop, not because we don't like pitbulls, but because we know the origins of many of them and we have to take special precautions to keep them separate from other dogs at all times, for the safety of everyone. Even so, we still take them in - they're not banned from our shop (we're groomers). I simply think it's a shame that people continue to breed the dog-aggression trait into them because in every other way they're great dogs. They're beautiful, and they have great loyalty to their people.

tryin to breed the agresiveness out of a dog is immposible, you can train them , but to leave a pitbull with another dog it'll have to supervised. dog agressiveness is build in these dogs, being prey drive. you can train them to get along with other dogs, but if you supervise them they will play and get alittle rougha dn the pit will wont to get rougher and rougher, as tryin tobe dominant. i'm saying it's impossible, but it'll be very hard, because these are built to be prey drive, dominant, and dog aggresive. i'm sayin it's good to walk down the road with your dog and see a stray and go "get em bruno" these dogs are agreesive and it take a resonsible owner to except that and deal with it, if noone can deal with the fact that they are i suggest another breed, maybe a cocker spaniel.
