Former DemocRATS --- check in and tell us your story of your political transformation

This morning, I put up a post about a former liberal who is now solidly on our side -- CHARLOTTE'S JOURNEY.

Many of you have made the same journey. Perhaps most of the transformations took place on 9-12-01. I don't recall a thread where those who have switched sides were encouraged to tell their stories.

Here is the opportunity. It could help create some strategy for us to gently help others come in from the wilderness.

If you used to be on the other side, please share your stories on this thread. Thanks.

I'm glad to know we have some good Canadian friends, Jim. Now, change your government!

I don't think the big business label holds anymore, Motherbear. Big business contributes to both parties. Small business, however, the heart and soul of America, is solidly for the GOP.

I worked my butt off to do just that for ten years, though my efforts pale compared to those of many others.
But the party I worked for no longer exists. It has been taken over and sold out for political expediency and where once the members were valued and consulted they're now just wallets.

My membership will lapse very soon and I won't be renewing, though I will be looking for alternatives. Unfortunately, there is no credible separatist movement here or I'd be on board so fast the wind of me moving in that direction would pull all the pictures off my wall.

How about invading? Or offering a swap of blue states for western Canada?

Works for me!

Cheers
Jim

If I could do it, you'd have a deal. Let us keep an area around Boston for historical significance, then we'll trade you the rest of the state. Leave a little bit of California so I don't have to move, and your country can have most of California.

Yessiree! The thought of emigrating from the comfort of my easy chair certainly can put a smile on my face!

Cheers
Jim

There are no democrats in Big Business?

I think that is just an immature line of thinking.
