Gotta love Vincent Carroll.
In his Tuesday column in the Rocky Mountain News, Vincent Carroll compared me to the Third Reich's Gestapo and Nazis in general.
Why would this "editor" attack me? Because he didn't like me saying in a Denver Post column in May 2002 that, if America suffers catastrophic, mass-casualty terrorist attacks by a terrorist group directly supported by a nation's government, the US might have to use nuclear weapons against its mortal enemies to save itself.
This is a fact Carroll is unable to grasp.
Carroll would apparently rather sing "Kumbaya" while emersed in the glow of a big, group hug with Hezbollah, Hamas or al Qaeda.
I do not mind at all that Carroll was one of the Americans whose freedom-of-speech rights I defended in 20 years in the Marine Corps. Even cowards like Carroll who didn't have the guts to speak to me personally before penning his tirade, who conduct unprovoked sneak attacks and then run for cover, deserve free speech. I didn't even know who Vincent Carroll was until Peter Boyles told me Carroll had attacked me. I was happy to defend his rights and trust he, too, served in the military to defend my rights.
Naturally, it was lost upon Carroll that I said in that column that the US should first announce publicly that any nation caught supporting a terrorist group that conducted a catastrophic mass-casualty attack on America would be attacked 24 hours after intelligence proved the link. Carroll also missed the importance of me giving not only a pre-attack warning, but giving 24 hours to evacuate the target city of civilians. Interesting that Carroll didn't mention having a problem with the US ending World War II with two enemy cities being melted by US atomic bombs, which saved hundreds of thousands of lives on both sides by preventing a US invasion of the Japanese mainland. I wonder why Carroll hates Japanese but loves Iranians and Syrians.
Of course, I know that Carroll wrote his column hoping he would get invited onto the "Gunny Bob Show" or "Inhuman Newman's Anger-Management Hour." Carroll heard the Denver Post's Jim Spencer was a guest on the "Gunny Bob Show" recently and wants equal time.
I want Vinnie to know that he is welcome to chime in on either of my shows from time to time. I don't hold a grudge and in fact thank Carroll for the ink.
LOL! You gotta take these charges in stride. I was cited for using scare tactics in a recent "Voice Of The Reader" article in a local newspaper, simply for citing the truth and facts with regards to Social Security reform by various Moonbat readers of the same paper.
At least he compared me to a high-ranking Gestapo officer.
;-)
