He has a rash that won't go away. It was on his face, then on his neck and then on his back. He went to the V.A. hospital for a biopsy (100 mile+ trip) waited a few days and the results came back - inconclusive. He says a lot of the guys got it while they were in the desert.
Tinnitis in one ear from mortar fire. Other than those things I guess he is ok. I told him he was in good company with the tinnitis, Ronald Reagan had it. He said that didn't make it any better.
I followed procedure and pinged him this time since I am talking about him.
Sorry... I hadn't heard about that. Prayers that it clears up in time away from the desert.
Heh. Like they say about the Artilleryman's favorite word:
WHAT??? WHAT???
prayers fer smaagee...
got tinnitus bad... from fire... especially due to an 8" SP Howitzer what kicked off a round when I was 40 yards down range... it's irritatin' but you can live with it...
had a serious bout of malaise, diarreah and just feelin' funny aboit 2 years after SWA... lasted about 6 months... docs said there was nuthin' wrong with me... course it was Navy medicine...
That rash sounds like no fun. That it moves around sounds like a lymphic sort of thing. I had an allergic reaction to poison oak many years ago that got into the lymph system. Took ~forever~ for the rashes to stop popping up all over.
"Inconclusive" is at least maybe some good news inasmuch as the really bad stuff tends to be better known. I dunno. Not a doctor, and didn't stay at a holiday inn express last night. :-)
Goodness! I hope you get to feelin' better soon, Steve!
I have tinnitus too. At first it was this real pretty sound, like a quiet gong or tuning fork in there. Then I went to a German festival and the music was so loud (which I loved) that when I left my ear was going "EEEEEEEEEE" and has been for 6 years now! It's annoying, for sure. Do you have hearing loss in that ear too?
