Good morning!
Wow Corin! Nicely written! :-D
And I went ahead and sent in a short letter to the Today Show. *grin*

Being a single mom is an adventure in and of itself, but if I were given the chance to do something just for me, I'd go to Scotland.
A trip like that would be the fulfillment of a dream I've had for years. To walk amongst the standing stones scattered throughout the country, to witness the excitement of the military tattoo, to stand silent at Culloden Field, to hear bagpipes wailing over the moors, to drink and hear the word "Slainte!" and to find a solitary spot amongst the heather where I could sit and think...far from the big city noises and pressures. ~sigh~
I'm not Scottish. I'm latina, believe it or not. But part of me wonders if I've been to Scotland before....
Thanks for hearing my submission.

Short and sweet. They won't pick me though. They like to pick unusual requests like flying a hot air balloon or feeding Great Whites off the coast of Australia. Makes better TV than some 30-something chick drinking whiskey and peeking under guys' kilts. LOL!
Kilts...heh...
You know, I think I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again! A few times when I was in Germany, I went to Lourdes (it's in southern France - the Pyranees) as part of an annual military convention for Catholic military folks from around the world...mostly Europe. One year we stayed in the hotel next to the Irish folks. Some of their ceremonial uniforms involve kilts, or something very like kilts. A group of us were standing watching them, and someone commented on their unusual socks, so we were tryin' to see what the tops of the socks looked like, and (I admit) bending down a bit to do so. But that's ALL it was!
And just as we were doing this, our chaplain walked out and did a double take. We all turned various shades of red.
But I'm innocent I tell ya! Innocent!
