Thanks, Suzi.
Naahhhh....I'm a damn Tar Heel.
I want prayers for patience and I want them ~right now~!!!
[stomps foot]
:-) Can do...
*smiles* That's about how I feel tonight.
I'll take the red one please.
Maybe the blue one too.
Oh heck. Just leave 'em lined up and I'll drink them eventually.
Unfortunately, that don't work. They'll flag me down.
They're nice people, and good neighbors. But, in spite of all the time I'm on here, I don't ~do~ small talk in RL.
bamboo...it's invasive...just like them...
Blackberries. :-)
Mmmmmm.....blackberries....
Can you get blackberries to grow about 10 ft tall?
The biggest problem with the blackberries would be to keep them from taking over both your houses.
If the area is swampy there are some varieties of trees and shrubs that will realy suck up a lot of water and dry places out nicely.
I planted about 6 groups of ornamental grass last year. They were filling in the gaps and they should get to be about five feet tall. Maybe I'll just fill in with more this year.
Prayers up. Feel free to vent, that's what we're for. Just think, less than three months to Shootmoot!
Hang in there... :-)
We're all braced and ready for the vent. :-)
Thanks, chica.
Long story short...
I get home after a long stressful day, bathe the kids, feed them, entertain them, (finally) get out of my work clothes, clean up the kitchen, wrestle kids to bed, etc.
My mom locks herself in her room (to "recover" she says) the whole time I'm running around. I get settled in, to unwind a bit and discover I still need to go out and get milk. *sigh*
I ask my mom why she couldn't let me know when I called earlier that we needed milk and her response is "You made coffee this morning. Why didn't ~you~ notice?"
She goes on and on about how ~exhausted~ she is and how she's going to have a nervous breakdown, etc. It's like she doesn't stop and realize that I am supporting this household by myself and I don't have the luxury of being "off the clock" nights and weekends.
< /vent >
*grinning*
Was it that obvious that I was composing my vent?
Yup. :-)
Nicely vented, too...
Thanks. I feel better now too.
Almost ready to run out and get the milk.
Man... you're the one who's going to have the nervous breakdown!
My mother stayed home with all of us, did the cooking and cleaning and educating. She also tried very hard to never greet my father with a "Take them, it's your problem!" attitude. I hope to be like that myself someday. Of course, once I was old enough to babysit it was "Let's ditch the kids for a couple hours" but that's different... yeah, dealing with kids is stressful but! so is working out of the house!
Well, I did have the good fortune to stay home with Becky for her first year, so I know it's no walk in the park.
But really, it was easier than having to get all gussied up, fight traffic, deal with rude clients, stomach the "office politics", fight traffic to get home and then shake off the payroll rep and assume mommy-mode instantly.
Becky was a great baby and a wonderful little girl. Alyson is a spoiled brat and I say that with all the love in my heart. But she is.
And it's because my mom isn't raising her. She's simply watching her to be sure she doesn't kill herself before I get home. It's beyond frustrating.
I've talked to my mom about being a bit more involved with Alyson as far as reading to her during the day when Becky's at school, but my mom's attitude is "I raised 3 kids already and I'm too old to do it again."
My mom is 51 years old. Sheesh!
