I hope your weather swings back to spring! It’s cold here this morning.

You have a great variety of birds! I took interest in what you said about the Pileated and did a search. It was on the endangered species list but no longer is. It said, that there is still concerns regarding this bird though. It is an amazing looking bird. I have only seen them in pictures. They look like a cartoon character to me. To see one in real life must be fascinating.

Before birding, I never knew how many Woodpecker varieties there are. It's great you have so many varieties visiting! With the snow the other day, we were amazed to see 3 Flickers, Downeys and Red bellies all at once. There was a wait for the suet. I have to have 4 different stations for the suet. The only good thing about the snow is it brings in a lot of birds to the feeders. Great fun!

It is! And it looks like a cartoon character in real life too. LOL! I was almost late to an important meeting this morning, I got so busy watching him. Fortunately, some kids scared him into the trees. I did take a peak at what he'd been working on so intently, though. I was right about it being an old stump, but it looked like an excavation operation. Sheesh! That bird must have some power behind that beak! I hope he is there again in the morning.
