Hi GBUSA
Maybe your Mockingbird/Wren pairs will keep their territory 'round your place for years to come. It sounds like you have been a good hostess for their nesting activites this season and they tend to appreciate that, you know.

I've been on vacation--just got back last night. So far my yard is dead due to no rain and my familiar birds are AWOL! The first thing I did when I got home was empty the sludge from the birdbath and clean the feeders. I'm hopeful that they will return soon.

I mused today whether or not they "miss" their regular easy food sources and benefactor during my absence... Nahhh, probably not!

Oh, I must convey that I was attacked by a Canadian Goose a few days ago for venturing too close to his harem alongside a pond. We were walking past them, minding our own bidness, and this big, fluffly male started running toward me with his head lowered and mouth open, honking all the way. He managed to persuade me to move along a bit more briskly, and at this, he was VERY pleased with himself; he stopped and stood straight up and raised his bill high. It almost seemed that he was laughing at my speedy retreat! Too funny. What did he think he was going to do anyway? Bill me to death?

Hi Dysart!
Have your birds returned? I'm sure they missed their easy meal. Did they give you the cold shoulder treatment? LOL!

I want rain also. The Island gets rain and it always misses us. I could be speaking with my husband from his work and he says can you believe this rain. I'm like rain, what is rain. Weird weather here. I hope it rains soon or we better get an irrigation system soon. :)

LMBO! Attacked by a goose. We have Canadian geese here and I'm scared to death of them. They run at us at this one preserve we walk at and I feel like I'm running away like I'm in a in a horror film. LOL! They sure can be nasty.

I'm spoiling the Mocking Birds to keep them here. Blueberries, Cherries, Strawberries, Grapes and craisins. They will never leave. LOL!
