Calling listeners the best and brightest is Jay patronizing his fold. There isn't an ounce of sincerity in him. However, dare one of the best and brightest to disagree with little Jay and he flips out, shouts and hangs up.

I flipped Jay off in 2003. Haven't listened to him since.

If Severino should read this link, there will be a huge dissing of the Free Republic soon. For you Jay listeners, keep us posted.

It's not just "best and brightest", it's also one of the marketing lines that the radio station has been using, where their listeners are better than AM radio listeners. This would work fine for a top 40 station. But they are talk radio, and sure their competition is on AM, but where do they think their listeners are coming from. Insulting a good part of their listeners never made any sense to me.

LOL, so true. I cringe when a caller self identitifies as one of the " best and brightest".

One problem with Severin is that he is invariably wrong on his big predictions. Accroding to him the last two Presidents should have been McCain and Kerry.

Another is that he claims to be a libertarian but he is pro choice. I have nothing against libertarians but I find pro choice libertarians right up there with anti gun conservatives.

Jay Nuke'em has a lot of problems but he is good on the SCOTUS and their penchant for ignoring the Constituion. So, in that way he does a service. But he could do that service absent the faux bs and be that much better.

All in all I prefer Howie Carr on the drive home.
