My mom likes Howie but I'm partial to Jay. Jay usually makes sense and he is quick and funny and is extremely well spoken.
I've only listened to Jay a couple of times and that was maybe 2 years ago. My car radio is locked to WRKO and Howie is the standard listening on my 1 hr homeward commute.
I listened to Howie for years, then switched to Jay.
But Jay lost me last year during the election cycle with his constant negativity about Bush's election prospects. Also, I really got tired of listening to him bash Bush on Iraq.
So now I just switch back and forth between them.
Jay later apologized and said he had made a mistake in regard to his stance that he could not vote for Bush. Sometimes Jay is wrong, but the best and brightest in the listening audience will call the show and go on the air with him to pull him through it.
"Jay lost me last year during the election cycle with his constant negativity about Bush's election prospects" - same here, at that time I just stopped listening to Jay, now I switch to him when Howie goes in to commercials. And what makes Jay the brilliant mind military strategy he is today? It must be all those years he spent in the army/navy, ... oh never mind.
I don't take Jay as seriously as Laura, for example, but I like the way Jay puts words together and I like his voice too. Jay's show is the #1 talk show in New England for ratings.
His # 1 ratings around New England, must be attributed to some extent to his constant criticism of Bush.
What is 'Boston'?
Is it something special?
I've gotta go with Howie.
Who's funnier? Howie!
Who's more entertaining? Howie!
Who's more informative? That's a toss up.
Let's face it Jay is all politics, he was against W the first time around & being a friend of Kerry he was AWOL this time around.
Howie is more than just national politics, he has a much wider depth of knowledge overall therefore he is more entertaining imo, but he has way too many commercial breaks.
You got to love the Chump Line & Police Blotter Fridays.
Jay has a pehnomenal command of the language and is very quick witted. Onpure speaking style he is right up there with the best in the industry and his show is compelling. Howie is funny at times but there is too much filler material in his show like TV Guide ratings and esoteric local issues. I would vote for Jay even though I do not agree with him on hsi stance on the Iraq war but he does make re-evaluate your own position and be better prepared top defend it. Jay is ready for a national audience and could be a force to reckon with.
When ever I am close to my home state, I have to listen to Howie!
I wish I could tune him in here in Buffalo.
It's a quaint, little communist suburb of The Great State of New Hampshire.
The problem is that all the Massholes are moving up to NH and bringing their commie ways with them.
I know what you mean, but I'm a recovering Masshole, too. But unlike most Massholes, along with myself, I brought four other Republicans with me.
Exactly!
Jay is not Rush, not only is Rush a great political observer, he's funny. Jay is NOT funny and he tends to be boring imo.
I don't think his RINO politics would get him far beyond New England either. Like somebody else mentioned he fakes his support of the military and as a veteran I see through it. Jay being forty something & acting like a borderline pedophile with the younger female audience is sick too, it's no wonder he sits on the board at Milton Academy.
I think Jay is genuine about the military and make no mistake, Jay is fifty-something!
