I bought a home with a septic tank a few years ago. The state required inspection showed the tank was exactly half full. The inspector said the seal between the top and bottom half had likely broken. They pumped it and sent a skinny apprentice down to inspect it. I commented to my real estate agent that the kid had a real sh***y job. He replied, “Yeah, but he has quit chewing his fingernails.”
