That word is used here on FR in one post or another probably a dozen times a day, my friend. No news here.
It's an appropriate word for how the Germans viewed the US in Iraq.
They had/have lots of Schadenfreude. They tried to justify their position with this concept. Every bomb that goes off is seen as a reason to justify inaction for not helping, for why this war is "wrong" in their eyes.
