KY Lawyer, A troll is someone who deliberately provokes members of FR. For example, some trolls bring up lefty talking points. Other trolls post wacko conspiracy theories. A few just spout off nonsense.
Zot is allowing members of FR to taunt, mock, and finally ban the troll from FR. In a zot, we post pictures of cats, military units, or general mayhem and destruction to indicate that the troll is going to be banned.
But posting picures doesn't affect the troll. The actual "zot" is in reporting the troll to the Admin Moderator by hitting "Abuse".
"Yea, the mod shall emerge from her throne in the mountains, unleash the searing lightning bolts of zot, and render the troll to smithereens. Then there shall be must rejoicing in the land of FReep."
