BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi forces captured the leader of an Al Qaeda-affiliated terrorist cell allegedly responsible for carrying out a string of beheadings in Iraq, the government said, but declined to give a date for the arrest. Meanwhile, three U.S. soldiers were killed and eight wounded in a roadside bomb blast just north of the Iraqi capital on Friday.

This is what the article on the Fox website said, and it had a picture of al Zarqawi next to it. Doesn't say if there's a connection.....

From that Fox link: The government identified the captured cell leader as Mohamed Najam Ibrahim (search). It said he was arrested in Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad.

Officials said Ibrahim's operation was linked to Jordanian-born terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (search), who leads a shadowy insurgency affiliated with Usama bin Laden's Al Qaeda network.

Ibrahim carried out beheadings with his brother, the government said. Officials said he was being interrogated by authorities for information they hoped would lead to other arrests.
