When does Bush announce the location of his Pres. library, and does anyone know where it will be located? I would assume that Yale would be a possibility, but perhaps somewhere in Texas as well. UT-Austin has LBJ's library, and A&M has GHWB's, so maybe SMU? I know Laura went there, and when I visited there last year I saw that W had dedicated a promenade to her for her birthday.
Prior to 2000 election, both Cheney and Laura Bush were trustees at SMU. I'd say it is a favorite at this point, particularly as the Bush stated that a house will be purchased in Dallas post-presidency in addition to keeping the ranch in Crawford.
He could put it in Midland, Texas which is where he and Laura got their start, but there wouldn't be much "traffic" there---
SMU sounds plausible because of Laura going there, plus he was an owner of the Texas Rangers, and they play near SMU, which would sort of be a tie-in, and in Dallas, it would get a lot of traffic!!!!
