Thank you for running this thread. It was fun.
To: tubebender
Yea I heard about it last week.
Have mixed feelings XM really hasn't done well with the off time for the channel.
Sirius is really taking on a LOT of debt.
hope they last long enough to enjoy it...
MRN will still have thier programming over the air

Thanks for the ping! I was helping my son with school work and missed all but the last 20 laps - just in time to see the 24 go under. (In 4.5 years, I will have my life back and can watch whatever I want whenever I want!)
Thanks and see you next week!

Yah, I had high hopes for the Rainbow Warriors this week too... oh well, in two weeks, they'll race again.

Bad news Glock. I just found out I swapped out Blaney for Rusty. (I don't remember doing it?) 227 points. If you won't hold it against me I won't call PETA about Bo...

I don't know about you, but I keep thinking back to the good ol' days when we could count on Jeff to win around 10 races a year and to be in the top 5 consistently! Now that the rest of the competition has caught up, it's not as much fun. But mechanical problems are even more depressing, especially after last week!
One thing about racing, though, there's always another chance around the corner! See 'ya then!

Drivers warned of travel dangers
NASCAR notebook
By Don Coble | Morris News Service
FONTANA, Calif. -
Team truck drivers for next week's NASCAR Busch Series race will receive a military escort from Texas to Mexico City as concern for their safety increased with the recent travel warning issued by the U.S. State Department.
The bulletin warned U.S. citizens of kidnappings and murder along the border as part of a escalating war among drug lords.
The travel warning stated:
"Violent criminal activity along the U.S.-Mexico border has increased as a product of a war between criminal organizations struggling for control of the lucrative narcotics trade along the border. The leaders of several major criminal organizations have been arrested, creating a power vacuum. This has resulted in a wave of violence aimed primarily at members of those trafficking organizations and criminal justice officials. However, foreign visitors, including Americans, have been among the victims of homicides and kidnappings in the border region in recent months."
Drivers moving equipment to next Sunday's Telcel-Motorola 200 were told to meet in Laredo, Texas. From there, they would be escorted 720 miles through Mexico to the racetrack, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. They also were told to stay in a nose-to-tail line of traffic without stopping. Each were given a special cell phone that can work in remote areas if they have trouble.
