Cell Phones & Privacy
self

Wouldn't you know, a few days after we signed up for T-Mobile service (they had a good deal for our needs), I hear about this Paris Hilton thing.

How does someone hack into your stuff? Is it because they access IM and the internet via the phone?

We only use ours for emergency phone calls and never for internet or chat purposes.

I am just curious as to how this can happen.

We just axed our houshold phone and went to wireless use. Now we wonder who in the Hell is listening in. I just heard that Internet wireless parasites like to stalk near hotels that offer such computer links.

It's pretty hard to do i wouldn't worry.

Then again for about 10 bucks of equipment one could hack into a land line. It's not hard to do. I had a friend who used to work for a telephone company. He would just tap in and listen to people's conversations during lunch.

So don't have a misconception that land lines are secure

Did you buy a Sidekick phone? If not, don't worry.

What did you axe it, and how did it reply?

In this part of the country we ax a lot of questions. We ax to use the bathroom, whether not there a bath in the room or not. We axed our congressman for another month of deer season. (He wanted know what we were going to call it. If you have another month, you got to have a name for it) Anyway I digress. We went out to the shed and got the hardware kind of ax and let it have it. The phone didn't say anything. It just made a crunch kinda like the time when I stepped on granny's false teeth. I hope that is a satisfactory answer to your question.

All I know is that it is a phone and has IM/email capabilities which we will not be using.

Not sure what Sidekick is and I am sure we do not have this.
