THE UNWANTED TREASURE:
Farm Stories age (6)
Exploring a pound away
from the farm,
I heard the lunch
bell ring;

But I paused to retrieve
a treasure;
O' my Id' found a dream.

I hurried back, so thrilled
was I, to share what I
had found;
But when they saw me
coming they all screamed,
DROP IT TO THE GROUND.!

Down wind from me the
family ran,
indoors picnic and all.
Except they left my daddy
to explain a skunk is not
a doll.

That day I learned what
lye soap was,
Three times they scrubbed
me raw.

But I really thought my
treasure,
was still the best of
all.

What a delightful little poem LunaRed, I love it! :)

( I would not wish to be scrubbed with lye soap though!)

I read that tomatoe juice is suppose to take skunk odor away. Fortunately I have never had to find out!
