I think people are just sick of Star Trek, which, let's face it, wasn't that great to begin with. The first two seasons of the original series were fun--that's it, fun. The movies were these weird "action" movies that were erratically produced and mostly awful, boring, and had no interesting science fiction content. I gave up on The Next Generation early on, watching four episodes after the first season because friends gave the heads-up; bad actors, cheesy dialogue, PC scripts. Never saw Deep Space, Voyager had even worse scripts. Can't comment on Enterprise because I never saw an episode.
Overall, ST is a mediocre product people like because it's at least set in space. Farscape kicked its butt in every way possible.

I liked TNG cause of Picard but the rest were lacking...I guess those of us that grew up watching the original even though it was on for just a few seasons became a cult following and not even better visual effects could erase that..........some of the movies I thought were decent...

Why is it on FR I read a lot of 'too much PC' stuff in Star Trek. Why is that?

Farscape looks cheesy to me. They need better special effects.

Personally, I really liked the final season of DS9... In fact, the entire dominion war storyline was great... And I felt that the most interesting characters were the non-humans... Specifically Odo, Quark (to a lesser extent), and most of all, Garrick!
I also liked the stories that were character based in TNG. My favorite episode of the entire series was the one where the probe "grabs" Picard, and he lives out a live on an alient planet. Second favorite was the episode set on earth where Picard is recovering after being assimilated by the Borg, and he stays with his brother.
Enterprise was just starting to get really interesting, but UPN killed it by running a few new episodes, then going back to re-runs. It killed the flow of the stories.
