I wonder if science fiction has a future. I don't meet many kids interested in science fiction anymore.

What struck me about Friday's episode was the music. It was a moody and sophisticated score. Movie quality, IMHO.

This past week's "Enterprise" had espionage, danger, and an explanation of that 39-year-old riddle: why did the Klingons in the original "Star Trek" look so human when compared to later versions.
I stopped watching Enterprise last year; but I'm curious; what IS their explanation for that?

many kids are too busy getting fat not exercising and sitting on their fat a**es in front of whatever gadget is the current thing.........

My 11 year old daughter is interested in SF and she reads it all the time.
She can't stand Star Trek, though.

I think people are just sick of Star Trek, which, let's face it, wasn't that great to begin with. The first two seasons of the original series were fun--that's it, fun. The movies were these weird "action" movies that were erratically produced and mostly awful, boring, and had no interesting science fiction content. I gave up on The Next Generation early on, watching four episodes after the first season because friends gave the heads-up; bad actors, cheesy dialogue, PC scripts. Never saw Deep Space, Voyager had even worse scripts. Can't comment on Enterprise because I never saw an episode.
Overall, ST is a mediocre product people like because it's at least set in space. Farscape kicked its butt in every way possible.

They are growing up in a world that would have been a science fiction world when I was akid.

Now you got me interested, am a major film music fan. Who composed it?

Not refering to the poster directly, but this is the reason Star Trek is laughed at by anyone over 16. I mean, Who cares??? They had a bigger makeup budget, that's why! "P

Yeah it seems unless it's an xbox game, kids aren't really interested. I'm just going by what I see in the mainstream magazines, etc. There's nothing new coming out that's good. Or is there?

I miss Babylon 5. The new Galactica is great because like B5 its episodes can be woven into an epic.
