I hear you about Rush. Most of it's shtick, but he is genuinely informative and smart. After CFR (campaign finance reform) was passed he did a brilliant, heart-felt piece on how dangerous and wrong he felt it was for the country.
On Hannity....... I'll just pass for now. I'm burned out.

I don't get it. You say it's important to come off the right way. Sorry, Rush comes off as arrogant, Hannity does not, whether either of them means it or not. And if you can't tell that for sure, look at the liberal reaction to them. Rush has been and is consistently attacked as a jerk; why is he the 1 that still gets all the attention by Joe Schmoe Lib? Cuz his personality extra irritates them. Hannity only somewhat gets such reactions by libs (that surely is mostly accounted for the fact there're ALWAYS going to be complaints by the enemy just cuz they disagree).
The one guy who is universally liked on FR.
Hell, he's even liked by the paleo-curmudgeon crowd, which there are many.
I understand that viewpoint. Does Levin have a show? So does it matter?
And in any case, I think we need more than just "rational, educational discussions" to push home the point. People need to hear some emotionalism. People need to hear rage or sorrow or whatever to really drive home a point sometimes - or at least to get them to really listen.
I swear sometimes people tune out if it's all calm rational discussion.
And that's the basis of 1 of my theses - no movement ever succeeded being lop-sided on either the "rational" or the "emotional" side; they need to be balanced together to have impact. Our Revolution was heavy on intellect and reason, but even many of the intellects were willing to show their anger and ZEAL for the movement and make "outlandish" statements. The zeal carries things forward, and makes people as a whole take notice.

Before Todd got banned from Free Republic, he was over at LP bashing THEM!
That and because he's smartest and does the most damage to the libs and they KNOW it.
Hannity gets much less reaction from the libs because he's a lightweight, thinks slowly on his feet, resorts to the same dozen or so talking points continually, and does a good amount of sucking up to the libs.
But again, you are missing my point. Only one more time.
Forget about specific people here (no Hannity, no Rush). Again I ask you: would you be more prone to accepting the argument or point of view from a person who was full of themselves or the other way around. Well, I guess like most people you would rather listen to and possibly be influenced by the person who did not talk down to you.
Now........ back to Rush and Seannie. Everyone knows that Rush blows his own horn to the point where it's painful sometimes. But nearly everyone knows it's just a show. When he needs to get serious with a caller he does, and does so brilliantly. But Hannity comes off quite differently. With his sanctimonious religious slants and his 'the right is right and everyone else is clueless' spiel, he comes off as a spoiled kid who likes to bully at times.
You know that word "gravitas" that was thrown around a while back.... well, Sean could use some........ especially after the shabby way he chose to promote his site the other day. The kid can be shameless. But I'm rooting for improvement in him, after all he is on the right side and he has done some very good work in the past.
..... nope. But Hillary in a dress comes in a close second.

With Rush and Sean it's all about selling something, themselves, their products, whatever.
Good ideas, intellectual honesty do not need showbiz glitz.
However, there is certainly room for everyone in the marketplace and I wish them all well.
Yeh, but nothing like a good publicist and a catchy commercial or two.

Mark Levin is on WABC radio from 6 to 8pm every night.
Just recently, he did an excellent job on Charlie Rangel. He maneuvered Rangel into positions that exposed Rangel's illogic to new hieghts. A few FR posters I read where pleasantly surprise by it. It showed Hannity does have promise to improve his debating skills.

On another thread from yesterday, 'Keep Up The Good Work Sean!, Mark R.Levin (The Great One - pardon me Jackie Gleason) spoke highly and warmly about Sean. Check it out.
Sean's a positive, but he can get better.
