Guess he wouldn't want to hear the words of Solomon..."He that findeth a wife, findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord" (Prov 18:22)...maybe that's why he had so many.
I feel sorry for the writer, such a cynic. He wrote:
"Very few marriages last nowadays, and even guys older than me are telling me not to even think about it... It's a grossly overrated source of happiness."
Four siblings in our family, we're all still married to our original spouses and our marriages have lasted 30, 25, 25, and 21 years, respectively. And if you asked any of us, I think we'd catagorize our marriages as "happy", not problem free, of course, as life has a way of throwing you curves.
Maybe he just talked to the "wrong" people.
