The jealous types will take a swipe at our state, but I have proof of how people feel about where they are from. Go to Europe, or Africa, the middle East or anywhere else you can think of and find an American. They're easy to spot and there are lots of us so it shouldn't be too hard.

Ask them where they are from. 95% of the non-Texans will say. "the United States" or "America" with 5% saying NY or California. 100% of the Texans will say "Texas" because we, unlike the unwashed herds of ne'er do wells in the rest of the country, are proud of our state.

That is true. I have lived in Asia, Europe and visited many other places, Texans say Texas!

Been to the backest bush in Africa.

When the natives asked me where I was from, and I said, "Texas", immediately some kid would start drawing a picture of Texas in the dirt, then say, "Where's Dallas?"

My granddaddy once said to me,"Bayourod, don't ever ask a man where he's from. If he's from Texas he'll tell you without you having to ask. If he ain't, well, you don't want to embarrass him."
