I thought I had done everything you have done but still no sound. I have Outlook and hear sound on that so I must have done something different somewhere. I clicked on the megaphone, then clicked on the pop-up blocker. Voilla, window opens, Java opens, no sound. What have I missed?

You got me on this one. I didn't do anything on IE except enable popups on the google toolbar. If it helps, the WAV file that the popup is playing is called notify.wav, which is also set as my "mailbeep". I am running win2k. Not to make your pain worse, but the feature is very cool. I was posting on another thread and was notified of your message. I hope you can get it working.
