I never realized there were so many different kinds of feeders. With enough kinds of feeders and the right kinds of plantings, I would think you could attract an incredible variety of birds.
I need to do a little research on Roadrunners. We have them here and I have seen several, but not in my yard. I read up on them back a long time ago when I lived in the desert for a couple of years, but I've forgotten about their habits and what they like to eat. I took this a few months ago, and it was in a residential neighborhood near here. Not too clear, but you can definitely tell what it is. There were 2 of them, and they didn't seem very timid at all.

About 2 years ago I had a road runner in my arena. That is the only time I have seen one anywhere around here. It took me awhile to even figure out what I was seeing:). It was running up and down the fence line, and was hard to see, because it blended in with the dirt. I thought it was so cool. But I know that was what it was.

My camera is on the blink right now. We think it might be the battery has failed. The camera just won't turn on. I'm going to pick up a new battery next time I'm in town.

I once spied two road runners in the cul de sac and then saw them going into the neighbor's yard, pecking in the flower bed like chickens! I also saw a mama and baby wild turkey in my patio area.. I grew up in a small town and did not see this growing up..or perhaps was oblivious.
