Your so lucky you went to a garden show. I'd love to go a garden show. I had never seen Nandina. I looked it up and that's a great choice! I love the idea of leaving room for annuals in between. I agree, annuals are terrific for long season colors. Each year I use them more and more. I hope this thread is going on long enough for pictures of your plantings. :)

I really like the Nandina also. They change colors with the season but keep their leafs all year. Now that I know what they are I see them everywhere:). I even checked today at wal-mart and they had them. The tag on them at walmart tho, said plant in shade. They won't be in the shade where I wanted to plant them. But I noticed all the ones I saw today, were where they would get sun, then on the internet it said they could take the sun....I'm confused why that tag said that, but I'm going to go ahead and try them. They were like $5.44 a piece, so that's not too bad. I want 8 of them.
