There are hawks and eagles around, but I think they stick to the more open areas. I see them just a mile or so from here. There is no shortage of rabbits, squirrels and the like. I've no doubt they can find plenty to eat without staking out bird feeders. LOL!

The Hawks come south for the winter and arrive here around November. I'm so glad they go back North before the Spring nesting. They are always stalking the feeders in my yard. They are beautiful birds and have to eat but I prefer they snack elsewhere. It's usually Coopers Hawk or Sharp Shined. I've seen only a few birds over the years get caught. From what I see, the birds are very smart and do an excellent job with their escape. It's very interesting watching and listening to them alerting each other.
