Can't think of a thing that's different except that a lot of the birds and squirrels are acting weird lately, so perhaps it is related to the mating season.

Could possibly Hawks or another predator? I see the squirrels fly up the trees and the birds taking off in all directions. I've seen a few Hawks in my yard. I don't always see the Hawks when they all scatter like that.
