Gadsden boy attacked by pit pull after saving his little brother

A Gadsden boy who was attacked by a neighbor's pit bull after saving his 3-year-old brother from harm will likely need cosmetic surgery to reconstruct his face, his mother said.
Jonte Bishop, 8, pushed LaMonte Teague inside their neighbor's house when the dog broke out of the fenced backyard and ran up onto the porch where the boys were Saturday afternoon. The dog attacked Jonte' before he could get inside.
Karen Bishop said her son, who was treated at a Birmingham hospital, has 29 stitches on his forehead and near his eye, but he did not have any vision loss.
"All he could say at the hospital was at least his brother wasn't hurt," she said.
A police officer made a report of the attack soon after it took place, and the mother called the animal control division Tuesday.
Bishop said animal control officers told her the dog's owner has 10 days to turn the animal in to be checked and the health department had to make the order that the dog be put to sleep.

Where did this happen?

If those were my boys, the dog would have been disemboweled and hanging on a stick by now. And the dirt bag who keeps such a pet would be on thin ice for the same.
Brave young man - his little brother is fortunate to have such a big brother
