I have seen all three of the movies. I really liked The Notebook a lot for its South Carolina setting and the way the lovers come together in the face of such improbable circumstances. The movie's ending is really bittersweet. James Garner and Gena Rowlands are outstanding. The best is always saved for last. You don't seen many films out of Hollywood that celebrate a more innocent and leisurely paced era. And it makes you wonder in the face of today's troubled relationships and marriages if there's hope for a lasting love for all of us.

"...if there's hope for a lasting love for all of us."

Despite experience, hope survives.
