Everybody always gets this wrong. Rush wasn't slamming McNabb - he was slamming the MEDIA for not reporting accurately about McNabb.

As a Browns fan, any time the Eagles want to give up that "loser" McNabb I'll be happy to have him in Cleveland.

An objective review of McNabb is that he is capable of outstanding performance, but really lacks focus and concentration when it counts. I'm not sure whether you can outwardly build that confidence that produces focus and concentration. You either have it or you don't!!! This guy was terrible for the last few minutes and seconds of the game!!!

Well, had Philly won, I'm certain the announcers would have gleefully reported "McNabb is a great QB, regardless of what Rush said" or something like that. Instead, they didn't mention it (or perhaps I missed it) that while McNabb's performance was good in the SB, it was far from a great performance.

that was the coaching. mcnabb didnt have the greatest game but its not his fault our team was unprepared for a hurry up offense when we were down by 10 with 5 minutes left. im still heartbroken.

Let's face it. Rush choked as he didn't even make it through one full season without losing his job,

The Browns need a lot more than a good quarterback. Remember, Trent Dilfer was a starting Super Bowl winner.

As I recall, Rush made those comments at the same time he predicted New England to win the SuperBowl.

Seems to me Rush is nails when it comes to NFL predictions. As good if not better than any other talking head on any network.

Or Louis Armstrong.

Didn't you just love his "One small step for man.." line?

Actually, a QB is the least of their worries.

Hiring Phil Savage was a good first step. Hopefully, Romeo Crennel will work out too. He can't be worse than Butch Davis.

Consider my pet theory that the McNabb controversy was a calculated event. Note that it occurred right before the whole pill thing broke. The show would have had no alternative but to fire Rush. But the way it went down, Rush exited on his own terms given an exit was inevitable.

That said, McNabb is NOT one of the greats ... but I will grant that he is good. Perhaps if he received appropriate criticism back before the controversy, he would have learned how to run a 2 minute drill. :) Also consider that if the Eagles played in the AFC, they'd be lucky to get a wild card slot in any of the divisions.
