The military has a fair share of generals unable to function
in a war zone. I would say that finding a man that knows what his mission is refreshes some of us that knew generals
that were overwhelmed with 100% participation in the United Way campaign and not much else..............

We'd better look at the outcome of the work that our military is trained to doOur military is trained to kill the enemy. If there are plenty of dead "enemy" on the battlefields of Fallujah, Mosul, etc., then they are doing the job they were trained for. If you want a happy face put on discussions of war, talk to a politician.
If you don't get this, rent "Patton" and watch it several times over. And if you still don't get it, just sit back quietly (= STFU) and enjoy the peace and security your military affords you, despite the low pay and sacrifices they make.

Mattis added: "You go into Afghanistan, you've got guys who slapped women around for five years because they didn't wear a veil. You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a hell of a lot of fun to shoot them."

Are we in agreement that this is a troll?

Hell's bells, he's a Marine General! He is trained to kill people. I can't imagine not feeling good about disconnecting some of the dirt bags that are fighting against freedom in Iraq.
I hope a promotion is in his near future.

Mattis shoulda kept his mouth shut. Those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know firsthand.
Having said that... . It makes Mattis sould like a clerk, not a warrior.

I tend to agree with you. I haven't noticed any replies in defense of this post yet from the "troll".

1. The military has a fair share of generals unable to function in a war zone.
2. I would say that finding a man that knows what his mission is refreshes some of us that knew generals that were overwhelmed with 100% participation in the United Way campaign and not much else..............1. Would that be affirmative action generals and women generals? Hmmm?
2. Yes, it is.
Patton and Puller would be pulling for him.
Pun intended.

I don't see the problem. The guy doesn't play basketball either. Its not like he said, "I enjoy killing fudge packing liberal left democrat goober smooching fagots for fun." He said, "It's fun to shoot some people" which means some people need it.
To: iliya Pavlovich PhD
DO YOU HAVE ANY RESPONSE!? There are doubters amongst us.
To: iliya Pavlovich PhD
The general should just be counseled about what he says when there are microphones and "unfriendlies" around.
