Scott Peterson's half-sister writes book, publisher announces Associated Press

MODESTO, Calif. - The half-sister of convicted murderer Scott Peterson has written a book about the "untold story" surrounding the case, the publisher announced Thursday.

Anne Bird was put up for adoption at birth and reunited with her biological mother, Jackie Peterson, and her brother, Scott, in 1997, according to a statement from ReganBooks, a division of HarperCollins.

The book, "Blood Brother: 33 Reasons My Brother, Scott Peterson, is Guilty," is set to go on sale March 1. The publisher says it will detail "the untold story of Scott, Laci, and the Peterson family."

Peterson was convicted Nov. 12 on two counts of murder in the deaths of his pregnant wife, Laci, and the fetus she carried. The jury fixed the penalty at death. Formal sentencing is set for March 11.

ReganBooks in January released the book, "Witness For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson," written by his former mistress Amber Frey. CBS subsequently bought the rights to make a television movie based on the book.

I agree. This girl was initially in support of SP until she got to see and hear him in action. She could have some really ugly but accurate and firsthand knowledge of what this guy was up to in the very early stages when he should have been a basket case.

Yes, I found out about this last week...Gloria Allred is representing her. The Peterson family is said to be floored by thins, a little anxious that Anne might let some Peterson Family skeletons out of the closet.

Saw the interview with her tonight on Dateline and she had a lot of things to say including the fact that two days after Laci went missing her Mother Jackie called her to help with Scott's alibi.
Also it came out that there is another brother named Don who has not been heard from.
This Jackie Peterson is a real piece of work and she seems only to be interested in Scott and none of the other kids she has.

Anne Bird has a strong feeling that Laci (and Connor) were drowned in the backyard pool.

Laci told her a month before that she liked to float in the pool very often as it eased the discomfort of her pregnancy at that stage.

Jackie comes off as a real piece of work. Jealous of Scott and Laci living closer to the Rochas. She tells Anne at that same month time period that Scott and Laci are having problems and in answer to Anne's "what?" says "men", projecting Scott's adultery onto Laci (though Anne didn't know what to make of it at that time and didn't explicitly say my last part about Jackie projecting).

Well she may have had a hard life but is that supposed to excuse the fact she may have been helping her son conceal the murder of his wife?
I'm sorry I can't muster up any sympathy for this woman at all. She was very jealous of any one who had any relationship with her son Scott, very weird and dysfunctional, also very jealous of Laci.
She is willing to do anything to get Scott off even though she probably knows that he killed his wife.
Reminds me of the relationship between Cody and his Mother in "White Heat".
Jackie Peterson needs some serious help.
