It's easy to see why this is so popular in Hollywood.

It's all about taking and using and lying and cheating and ME ME ME.

Reed Slatkin, the Scientologist charged with defrauding investors of at least $230 million in an alleged Ponzi scheme.

Friggin' Scientology is a 'defraud the investors' scheme itself. THE key leaders are very weathy people. You climb the ranks in Scientology linear to what you give. Then, when you've given tons of cash to find out that all the ills of man are the result of an explosion on the planet Zenu, and the pieces of the gods now inhibit your life... you feel too stupid to admit you've been defrauded and stay to convice others to join in your stupidity.

I worked for a startup where the principals were all Scientology (funded by alledged S. bigshot Robert Duggan). The Internet was a bad thing for Scientology (revenue generating church secreats were put out there for free). EarthLink was to be the Scientology ISP to lock it all down. 'XYZ Firm' I was at was it's VPN security play. (And they wanted to get rich too...)
