Good morning all!
Rain at last. Was up late reading my favorite author Patrick O'Brian and heard the wind begin to howl at the windows, and sure enough a nice slow drizzling rain that soaks in.
I have been waiting paitently for a local guy to finish my loafing shed but no luck yet, Melody just has to stand out there in it but it's a warm rain.
Good morning everyone! Got my 'last minute busies' today... I have a long list! -to make up the guest bed, clean the barn, and finish tidying the rest of the house. I don't mind so much keeping a slightly messy house, but I don't want my guest to think I keep a messy barn ;~D
We've got drizzle this morning too. I am prayin' at this point for a break in the rain so it's nice for Markie.
It's raining here today too, and looks like it will all day. Not cold tho.
So what day is Bo going to be at your house?
Becky
She arrives tomorrow morning :~D
I am trying to get myself going. I am ~really~ drained. This has been a lot of stress, getting ready to go on this trip, with all that has been involved. I don't mind saying I think I am pretty good under stress, I focus and think and analyze and problem solve really well, even if those around me suffer for all my fretting. But once it's solved, then I crash. I've got to pace myself today, but there are some things that still need done.
LOL...I know what you mean..perparing for a trip is very stressful. When Mack and I have taken trips, by the time we leave we are usually not speaking:).TAkes a day or two for nerves to calm. After 30 years tho, we have both learned to deal with it, and just go with it, it does get better, and it will all be worth it, altho you may not realize it till you get back:)
Becky
ecurbh sounds like Mack, and you sound like me, with one exception, it aggravates the heck out of me when I think I'm not being listened too, and when I don't feel I'm getting help with planning what to do for different scenrios:). Mack seems to never look for problems to develop just because we're not there. And so far he's always been right:). I try to plan for everything and this he's unrealistic to not help plan for disasters:)..we humans are funny creatures and our own worst enemies.
The main thing tho, once you get on the road, trust you have left everything in good hands, AND HAVE FUN!!!
Becky
"Wow, it's really confusing to have more than one "Tuffy" on the the thread"
Not really. One is a horse, the other is a horse's behind.
He does help a lot. Thank goodness he's going to go shopping for groceries and feed store in addition to working all day today. He just has this calm about him when I am worrying... He really does worry about the critters as much as I do.
Rats... a hummingbird just tried to come to our feeder... first one I've seen this year, and the feeder was yucky, full of LAST YEARS solution and all mildewy. I took it down and cleaned it out, but now I can't find the mix.
ecurbh, have you seen it? If not, would you mind adding it to the feed store list?
I hope he comes back and tries us again when we're ready :~D
Well, that got me moving, I better keep at projects.
I was just thinking last night with my garden starting to take shape, that I needed to get the hummingbird feeders filled. I bought the mix a few weeks ago, but thought it was still too early. I may just fill one right now and wait for developments.
Becky
If we had any, it should be in the cupboard over the sink. But I think we used up what we had. I'll add it to the list.

Hey, Becky, just thought I would let everyone know that Jets milk is starting to come in her teats are starting to get bigger now. I am relieved I was beginning to worry. She should be due around April 1st.
Welcome to the club :) - I started my hourly through the night checks las night. Dusty isn't due until just about the 1st but she is much more advanced that she was in her last pregnancy at this point. Up and down, pawing the ground, baby dropped and vulva swollen. Who knows?
So far my mare hasn't started swelling in the vulva yet, But I am sure glad to see her milk starting, I have only had this mare about a year so I don't know what to expect of her.
check this out, ya'll.

I looked up there, I think you're right, we're out. Thank you honey...

Thanks.... I pinged it. Not much info in the story about the background of either one of them.
Becky.... do you want to ping everyone to any horse articles while I'm gone? I suppose I should start a new thread here too.
Ugh... having a case of 'The Mondays' today...
You just don't care ;~D You've got that "I'm about to go on vacation" syndrome.
I got stalls cleaned, but I have a splitting headache. A little tidying in the barn still to do, and remake the beds here in the house, and then I'm ready to be in vacation mode starting tomorrow. :~D
