*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Oooooo I'm telling......
Oh MAN Sharn! Great Pics! WOO HOO!
So SHE's a HE. Well, don't that beat all. He sure is pretty, and I like the name.
thankyou, i am surprised they came out so well I was shaking so much!
He's tall, but he's meaty too for a newborn. I think he's a week old already ;~D
You got some shots there that people who have been birthing babies for years haven't gotten.
So how is everyone this morning? Baby nursing well? Momma hungry?
he was up and walking 15 mins after being born and running 2 hours later. He has nuzzled on my jeans this morning and James thinks i did a good job of imprinting him.
I just cant believe that she tried to lay down, couldnt, got frantic, reared and had him. I have never run so fast!
She is eating well and Thunder is drinking well! : ) I am still shaking! LOL
LOL I'm slow, I just got your "hoof hearted" joke. Frog thinking it was so funny made me go back and read it again.
That's what I'm going to name my next horse.
ROTFL! I didn't get it till I was told to look at it twice, and finally said it out loud.
In the third picture, the mare has her mouth open, talking to her baby. It makes me teary-eyed.
Can you add one or two photos to the whos who? : D PLEASE
We're way ahead of you, ecurbh is working on it already ;~D
We'll have to keep that technique in mind when we have horses that refuse to have their babies. Get 'em to rear up and it'll just squirt right out! LOL!

Oh Gawd, can't wait to see what Keith has to say about that one.
it was scary! Poor Thunder, what an entrance!
That Edema on Sugar is something else... and I bet it takes awhile to re-absorb. I've only ever seen anything like it when Bay had that small one after getting kicked, and his remained there and soft for a couple weeks.
Well, all these boys on the place now.... I'd really recommend a vet with some scissors come out sooner rather than later.
We have already discussed that with the vet! : D
Good Job!
