*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I wear jeans to work all the time too. My boss doesn't like it, but I usually wear black or tan, and blue on fridays. It's a lot easier, and you don't have to iron them! :-) (Usually)

Good morning everyone, Sugar has had the after birth and it looks complete. Mom and foal are doing just fine. Foal is a lot more steadier than Adge was! We are heading back in there in a bit after coffee. My 5 year boy old got to see him for the first time before school and he has gone off with a big grin!
Emma has gone with her story to tell! : )
CVS should be opening in an hour so I'll be getting my card put on disc.

Morning, all.

Hair, I just ran across the thread from the New York dimwit who was unaware that there was life out of NYC. You had some seriously funny comments.

How about "Dulce de Leche" - milk caramel. It's very tasty, and it's sort of a chestnut color.

Dulce de Leche is a good one. Cinnamon is another simple one.
It would be Cinnamon and Sugar.
Ok.. I need breakfast now.

This is my favorite:

Dulcinea

dul·cin·e·a

noun

beloved woman: a woman who is the object of somebody’s love, especially one who is idealized ( literary )

[Mid-17th century. From Dulcinea , the name of Don Quixote’s love

I like Cinnamon too. Honey or Honeybun is another sweet one she could try.

I can't believe I missed the birth!! When did this happen?

Picking names from your favorite movies is a good way to find a name.

You snooze, you loose! It happened about 10pm eastern last night. We were just talking away and all of a sudden, Sharn's daughter Emma comes on and says "she's had it". We all just about freaked. We had been taking bets on the time and Duchess had just picked 9pm eastern as a joke, but she was almost dead on. It was a hoot! You'll have to go back and read it.

It happened at 10:00 last night. We're throwing around names right now, and Sharn is taking the pic to CVS to be put on a disk so she can show us.
