Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads…. And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

End of March, first of April, then Belle and three of mine due in May. Well one of the May ones is iffy. Vet said she wasn't pregnant but she sure looks like it.

She has been "off" Her hay for a while now, and sometimes slow to eat her grain. She hasnt touched her hay at all tonight. Normally by now, she will be picking at it. Maybe she has just run out of room : )
When in April is Belle due?

Belle is due May 8-12. I didn't think anyone had one coming in April.

That's very possible that she's just run out of room. I read that can happen.

All the ones I have seen do. But Belle did stand up with Dot halfway out:), it was kind of scary. But then she laid back down and finished.

I've been to the Equine Affaire in Springfield Ma loads of times. I absolutely love it. Haven't been able to go for a couple of years though. Do you know if it's already come to Ma?
No worries! Everyone has to learn, and what better place where you can voice your concerns? Certainly no one thinks the worse of you for it. :-) We just want everything to turn out ok!

I've got one due in April. My mare Truly. And Bluebell's due in May. So we've got this to look forward to every month for a while.
