You know I really like lemon pie. But you don't see me starting a vanity thread about it.

So much talk about Hollyweird on FR, I thought a thread about 2 fairly good movies might be appropriate.

Anyway, it's a slow Sunday.

You might want to reconsider. A thread on lemon pie might just be what is needed on a Saturday afternoon.

MMMM.... Pie.

Lemon pie?? REALLY? I like Boston Creme pie myself (I think we need a new thread, though).

Some people like Diet Coke enemas. Is there a thread on this?

I've been considering starting a thread on "Favorite Writing Instruments". I had a Mount Blanc at one time but I've discovered I'm just as happy using a Flair Felt Tip.

I appreciate movie tips. Reviews from real people are usually more trustworthy than reviews from movie critics. I don't like spoilers, though.

No need to. Let's hijack this one:

FILLING:
1 cup sour cream
3 egg yolks -- slightly beaten
1 pkg. lemon pudding mix -- 4 3/4 oz
1 1/4 cups milk
1/3 cup frozen lemonade concentrate -- thawed
1 baked (9 inch) pie shell

MERINGUE:
3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
6 tbsp. sugar

Combine sour cream and egg yolks. Stir in pudding mix, milk and lemonade. Cook in top of double boiler, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and pour into pie shell. Set aside. Beat egg whites, cream of tartar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Beat until stiff, adding sugar, one tablespoon at a time. Spread over pie being sure to touch crust to prevent meringue shrinkage. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned 12 to 15 minutes.

Recipe taken from "Pass the Plate", a cookbook produced by Church Women and Friends of Christ Episcopal Church, New Bern, N.C.

But you don't see me starting a vanity thread about it.

OTOH, I am glad to see vanities on interesting topics.

You are free to ignore - a lesson I learned when I used to flame Academy Award threads and so forth

Apple's my favorite. I will start a thread about it on Mother's Day.
