Also, I went to the Atlant Journal Constipation to get the Obituary information and looked at the guestbook. Someone had written "I and many members at moveon.org wish to express our sympathies." I emailed AJC and asked was it appropriate to link an anti-war organization to a fallen soldier. They deleted it and sent me an email alerting me to the fact. :)
This is my first post. Hope I did ok.
What is the problem with this World???? This is in Georgia!!!! Where have the patriots gone?
I am fuming! Brenda
Thank you so much GeorgiaBushie for going to this event. I for one feel we should keep this thread alive. Not only did you do a tremendously good job of going out and paying respects, you did a tremendous job on your first post. Semper Fi to all our beloved, treasured Marines, and God Bless to you! V's wife.
I should have a real link to the story as the Marietta Daily Journal is working on the story. I will provide it as soon as they put it up.
Bump to all you gals and guys over there. This is unforgivable
Please ping me when you get more info. Thanks for posting that and paying your respect.
Hey guys, long time no talk. This caught my attention. Your's too, Doc. If you have some ping lists, please have at it. I found this sad and disturbing. Thank you. V's wife.
Georgia Bump. Please ping. V's wife.
Shameful.
Betsy, you might want to get ahold of this school's information.
Thank you, Brenda!!
MARINE BUMP!!
Today at noon I saw WAGA-Fox5 cover this story and the chopper scene showed maybe the funeral home guys and no one else around the flag-draped casket at the high school. I wondered what was wrong.
This soldier deserves more than that.
damn...
I can't beleive that NAS Atlanta based in Marietta didn't supply a single Marine to be there. One of my old units is still stationed there.

It also has a link to the official base website.
You've got that right, my friend. Shameful indeed.
Can you get prayers to the family?
I have been looking for news links--no luck. Marietta Daily Journal has someone working on the story--It is not up as of yet

I don't have the words, but crap like that shouldn't happen here. BOTH sides of the road clear in a funeral procession here. Why the school would do such is beyond me.
T here is the guest book where we can leave our respect for a fallen American hero. Please ping your list. The family was denied their request by a school official to allow his friends their last respects.
GeorgieBushie writes: "Mr. Fonseca was a graduate (class of 2003) of Sprayberry High School. The funeral procession was planned to go by Sprayberry at 10:25am and pause for a few moments in front of his old high school. Principal Susan Galante, acting on orders from higher-up's, did not allow students to go outside and pay their respects to their former student, friend and fallen soldier, citing a rule that banned more than one school function per day. (A pep rally was scheduled for later in the afternoon).
There were no announcements to the student to alert them that the procession was passing or to give them the opportunity to pay their respects other than a few teachers and coaches (2 or 3 teachers) alerting their individual students that the procession was heading by the school and allowing them to go outside."
